The inspiration for this project came from a chair called ‘Elastic Wood’, designed by furniture designer Gil Sheffi. This chair contains no glue and only two materials: rubber and wood. Rubber is poured against the wood and when it’s dried a solid connection is made between the two materials. Because shoes usually contain a lot of glue and a lot of different materials, Anna thought it would be a challenging idea to create a shoe without a drop of glue. She came up with the Click Technique. This technique allows to produce sustainable shoes without any stitching , gluing components together or hard labor. For this project Anna Korshun was granted with a Dutch scholarship called SFA Fonds. Special thanks to Roderick Pieters who participated in development of this unique technique.
